Believe or not believe? Brief introduction to remote viewing
Myths are fascinating. I like to watch all myths related movies when I was a teenager. The imaginery world always spark my curiosity.
For some instinct, I found out remote viewing. The first thought of mine was “WHAT???”. I heard of many other things for sure eg. UFOs, aliens, greys, etc., but remote viewing is the first time.
I remembered the first time I got to know RV is that when I was in a bookstore, I read a book called “Third Eye Spies: Learn Remote Viewing from the Masters”. It was written by Dr. Russell Targ. He is a true believer and ran multiple scientific experiments on RV. The results are statistically significant.
I believe that remote viewing is an undiscovering science. It’s kind of like quantum physics where people do not fully understand it yet. With all that said, what is remote viewing actually?
Science has discovered that remote viewing is reliable. I have read a report written by Dr Jessica Utts from University of California, Davis, “An Assessment of Evidence for Psychic Functioning”. From the abstract, it stated that
Physicists are currently grappling with an understanding of time, and it may be that a psychic sense scans the future for major change, much as our eyes scan the environment for visual change or our ears allow us to respond to sudden changes in sound.
It is clear that right now the study focus should be shifted into studying the functioning of RV instead of proving the truthfulness of it.
For all the new joiners, remote viewing is the practice of seeking impressions about a distant or unseen subject, purportedly sensing with the mind. Remote viewers are as normal as us and the so called psychic abilities could be trained with instructions. In the book I mentioned above, some case studies shows the usage of this ability in Spies, traveling to Sun, Moon, Jupyter etc and also helping detectives for investigations.
The most interesting part and controversial part is that one does not get a visual like they see through their eyes but an impression, or, i would say conscious. Just like when we are dreaming, we think the surroundings are real. I do not think that RV is convincible unless we have statistical evidence. Thus, I want to make a series about RV in a scientific way.
In the following series, I will introduce you the history of remote viewing, project Stargate, the scientifc study by authorised institutions, and the future developments. I plan on making a documentary discussing
